So, why not have a blast while you wait for one of the biggest trendsetters of them all? That’s right, ISaloni 2018 is here and it’s here to stay. Take a peek at what the hosting city of the Italian trade fair is making the world go around!
Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie
This historic attraction was created in 1497 and it has all the ingredients if you are a lover of mysteries and art! Can you guess what’s inside? If you said, Leonardo da Vinci, The Last Supper masterpiece, then you are correct! The building that hosts a Gothic style with the red bricks and a large rear basilica is the one for the stars.
Grand Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
While it may not look like, this is a shopping mall. The grandeur of the place is the one that reminds of the entrance of the opera houses and luxurious hotels, the mall is covered in four glass panelled arms that let all that natural light get around the place. The walls and shop fronts are decorated with ornate panelling and stucco artwork. If you are looking for that luxurious piece of clothing, then this is the place for you! With names such as Prada, Versace and Luis Vuitton.
With extensive grounds and gardens, the Castello Sforzesco is the one to visit for a romantic getaway trip. With elegance and power coursing through the tourist attraction, aside from the castle itself, you can visit small museums and collections with plenty of interesting artefacts and historical information about the castle and the city!
Milan Archaeology Museum
If you are looking for a place truly dedicated to the past, then this the place you’ll want to be in. Nestled in Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, the museum has a curated selection of pottery, various archaeological artefacts, and armours.
La Scala Opera
A place of culture, La Scala Opera has hosted several figures of the world. Rich, opulent interiors with the stunning colour red making an outstanding appearance this cultural place has 6 tiers of seating and individual boxes frame the stage in a semi-circle. The rooms are filled with red velvet drapes and gold furnishings. Bonus: you can actually get a guided tour of the place!
If you are looking for a breeze, contact with nature and overall a good time, then Parco Sempione is the place to be. Covering 95 acres, the natural park is a large public space that contains beautiful gardens, a myriad of footpaths, bike trails and wooded areas with many sculptures and ornate fountains!
And if you’re just wondering around town, make sure you take place in the bohemian district Brera district. Nestled in the north of the Duomo in-between Borgonuovo and Broletto, the charming district is truly an inspiration. With art galleries, fine dining and spectacular pictures to be taken, make you sure you get around to it!
Not many people know it but Milan has actually two canals! One of them is Naviglio Grande. The perfect place to have a stroll around in a centre city like Milan. Located in the city centre with plenty of shops and restaurants to make a short visit, make sure this is the sightseeing on your calendar!
