You just won a free ticket to travel in time with Botti Lamp! See the Highlights of Chris Botti’s career!
When we look at one piece we are in the past, in the present and in the future, simultaneously.
The Past, because DelightFULL’s pieces were inspired by great jazz musicians, singers and composers from the 50’s. The Present, because our pieces are handmade by national producers that use peculiar and unique techniques. And, of course, the Future, because we are witnessing innovative designs.
The mid-century lighting brand ’s designers deconstruct certain concepts and create innovative pieces that are going to be presented at Light and Building 2018, in Frankfurt, from 18th to 23rd of March.
Today, we give you the opportunity to travel with Botti Lamp. This mid-century design was inspired by the American trumpeter and composer, Chris Botti.
Come aboard and see which were the most important events when this iconic music player was born!
Christopher Stephen Botti, know as Chris Botti, was born on the 12th of October, 1962.
This year was marked by his birth, but it was also the year that Telstar had its first live trans-Atlantic television signal, the first Beatles single “Love Me Do” was released, Marilyn Monroe was found dead, Cuban Missile Crisis took world to brink of war and John H. Glenn, Jr., became the first American to orbit the earth.
This year was a roller coaster, with its ups and downs. However, now we are going to travel in time and see the highlights of Chris Botti’s career!
1985 – 1995
Botti left Indiana University during his senior year for short touring stints with Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich. In 1985, he moved to New York City to hone his craft as a studio musician.
In 1990, he began a decade long touring and recording relationship with Paul Simon, which broadened his exposure to other singers. During that period, he also performed/recorded with Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole and others.
1995 – 2000
Botti’s solo debut, First Wish, was released in 1995, his second effort, Midnight Without You.
In 1999, Botti was invited to tour with Sting as a featured soloist in the Brand New Day tour. The american music player attributes his relationship with Sting as having changed the course of his career.
2001 – Present
Botti was introduced to Columbia by Bobby Colomby, drummer and founding member of Blood, Sweat & Tears, who went on to become his producer and manager. Botti’s first Columbia release was Night Sessions in 2001.
By June 2009, Chris Botti had released 12 solo albums. His first few releases are often classified as smooth jazz. That same year as well as the following year, Botti appeared as a Pennington Great Performers series artist with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra
