Patricia Urquiola, one of our favorite worldwide designers, has presented an incredible exhibition in the famous Madrid Design Festival 2020!<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Madrid Design Festival 2020<\/a><\/strong> has presented some of the best design ideas<\/span><\/strong> yet! This year\u2019s edition is starting to show one of the biggest surprises through the history of the event, thanks to its incredible ideas<\/span><\/strong>.<\/a> Featuring some of the best exhibitions yet, the stand out of this year edition is no questions asked the incredible setting by the worldwide designer<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, Patricia Urquiola.<\/span><\/em><\/strong> The designer went back to her root to present the best exhibition yet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n \"Table<\/a>\n\n\n\n

Madrid Design Festival<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>is an international event that wants to convert Madrid<\/a><\/span><\/strong> into the capital of design and elevate the city to a privileged position in the international arena. The festival is held through the end of February\u00a0and encompasses all best design <\/span><\/strong>disciplines, from architecture to graphic design, to interior design<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, all of them hybridizing into a contemporary and innovative format.<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This city-wide celebration is becoming a reference in the design world<\/a><\/span><\/strong> thanks to its unique design ideas<\/a><\/span><\/strong> from new young professionals and renowned designers<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, such as Patricia Urquiola.<\/span><\/em><\/strong> The festival is full of inspirational design ideas<\/a><\/span><\/strong> attracting\u00a0national and international\u00a0visitors to its exhibits and workshops that will be held at different places throughout the capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although she launched her career in Milan, the designer Patricia Urquiola<\/span><\/em><\/strong> studied architecture in Madrid. Her incredible exhibition at MDF 20202<\/a><\/span><\/strong> is called \u201cNature Morte Vivante<\/em>\u201d\u00a0(Oviedo 1961) and is curated by\u00a0Ana Dominguez Siemens<\/strong>. This unique design<\/span><\/strong><\/a> set shows products designed for industrial production, sometimes for artisanal production<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and very frequently at the intersection between the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From furniture to carpets, lamps, tableware, vases, fabrics, bathtubs, ceramics, and tiles, the main goal of this design set is to showcase some of the best products<\/a><\/span><\/strong> from different stages of Patricia Urquiola<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u2018s career, who founded her own design studio<\/a><\/span><\/strong> in 2001. These carefully selected pieces<\/a><\/span><\/strong> show their way of dealing with different materials and techniques, with ingenuity, creativity, and a fresh look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patricia Urquiola<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u2018s famous exhibition is organized in a non-chronological way, grouping the pieces around five \u201cstill lifes\u201d (or areas) that are inspired by paintings such as\u00a0\u00a0Nature Morte Vivante by\u00a0Salvador Dal\u00ed\u00a0or\u00a0\u00a0Still Life Resuscitating, by\u00a0Remedios Varo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These five areas -or still lifes- at Patricia Urquiola<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u2018s exhibition shows different axes:\u00a0\u00a0Transparent things<\/em>\u00a0brings together a collection of objects that have been important throughout his careers, like a connection between the past and the future. However the so-called\u00a0empathic<\/em>\u00a0journeys, inspiration arises from the idea of \u200b\u200bboth real and imaginary travel, that is, travel as a mental state, and the concept of\u00a0\u00a0Resistances<\/em>\u00a0shows projects that invite thinking.\u00a0
