\u201cStar Wars: The Flat Awakens\u201d<\/strong><\/em> is a cool self-initiated project by Portuguese art director Filipe de Carvalho, visualizing old and new characters from the Star Wars saga as flat icons.<\/p>\n

Filipe has been working as a copywriter for excentricGREY, an advertising agency in Lisbon since\u00a02008. He has been creating for such brands as Vodafone, Volvo, Seat, Chevrolet, GlaxoSmithKline, Heineken, Sagres, Samsung, Unitel, EDP, Ben&Jerry\u2019s, Allianz, Navigator, European Commission, Millennium BCP, Turismo de Portugal, among others.<\/div>\n
He was\u00a0awarded at Cannes Lions, Eurobest, New York Festivals, Webby Awards, El Sol, Portuguese Creative Club, Pr\u00e9mios Sapo.<\/div>\n

In 2012 he had the pleasure to win the Eurobest Young Lions competition, which led him\u00a0and his team-mate to represent portugal\u2019s\u00a0colours in an international competition.<\/div>\n

2014 was a year of opportunities. Filipe won the Young Lions Competitions, this time for Cannes Lions, which led him\u00a0to represent his\u00a0country yet again in an international competition.<\/div>\n

Filipe de Carvalho was also chosen to be a Young Board Member of the ADC*E in Amsterdam and had the delight of teaching young designers at EDIT school about creativity.<\/div>\n

2015 was a year of accomplishments since this Star Wars Design project<\/strong> truly took off and the artist had the opportunity to see his work published in Vanity Fair, Fubiz, Adobe and ended up exposing in real pop art gallery, the Hero Complex Gallery in Los Angeles.<\/div>\n
