Hadid has also undertaken some high-profile interior work, including the\u00a0Mind Zone\u00a0at the\u00a0Millennium Dome\u00a0in London as well as creating fluid furniture installations within the\u00a0Georgian\u00a0surroundings of Home House private members club in Marylebone, and the Z.CAR hydrogen-powered, three-wheeled automobile. In 2009 she worked with the clothing brand\u00a0Lacoste, to create a new, high fashion, and advanced booth. In the same year, she also collaborated with the brassware manufacturer Triflow Concepts\u00a0to produce two new designs in her signature parametric architectural style.<\/p>\n

Awards and international recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2002, she won the international design competition to design Singapore\u2019s\u00a0one-north\u00a0master plan. In 2005, her design won the competition for the new city casino of\u00a0Basel, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

In 2004, Zaha became the first female and first Muslim\u00a0recipient of the\u00a0Pritzker Architecture Prize, architecture\u2019s equivalent of the Nobel Prize. In 2006, she was honoured with a retrospective spanning her entire work at the\u00a0Guggenheim Museum in New York; that year she also received an Honorary Degree from the\u00a0American University of Beirut.<\/p>\n

In 2008, she ranked 69th on the\u00a0Forbes\u00a0list of \u201cThe World\u2019s 100 Most Powerful Women\u201d. In 2010, she was named by\u00a0Time\u00a0as an influential thinker in the 2010 TIME 100 issue. In September 2010, the British magazine\u00a0New Statesman\u00a0listed Zaha Hadid at number 42 in their annual survey of \u201cThe World\u2019s 50 Most Influential Figures 2010\u201d. Hadid was appointed\u00a0Commander of the Order of the British Empire\u00a0(CBE) in 2002 and\u00a0Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire\u00a0(DBE) in the 2012 Birthday Honours for services to architecture.\u00a0She was listed as one of the fifty best-dressed over the 50s by the\u00a0Guardian\u00a0in March 2013. Three years later, she was assessed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the UK by\u00a0Woman\u2019s Hour\u00a0on\u00a0BBC Radio 4.<\/p>\n

She won the\u00a0Stirling Prize\u00a0two years running: in 2010, for one of her most celebrated works, the\u00a0Maxxi\u00a0in Rome,\u00a0and in 2011 for the\u00a0Evelyn Grace Academy, a Z?shapes school in\u00a0Brixton, London. She is also the designer of the\u00a0Dongdaemun Design Plaza & Park\u00a0in\u00a0Seoul,\u00a0South Korea, which was the centerpiece of the festivities for the city\u2019s designation as\u00a0World Design Capital\u00a02010. The complex was completed in March 2014.<\/p>\n
