Another new opening in London, the Valextra store opened at\u00a0London\u2019s Mount Street looking like a stunning\u00a0dream house!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The designer of the project was\u00a0the London-based studio of Canadian designer Philippe Malouin, who created an amazing domestic look for its new home.<\/p>\n

Sara Ferrero, the brand\u2019s CEO, and the\u00a0art director Susanna Cucco always admired Philippe\u2019s work, so they worked together with the designer to achieve this amazing result. \u201cWe like the way he works with materials, his pure and graphic approach to design, but also the sophisticated way he combines texture and colours.\u201d\u00a0Malouin decided to create a space with a\u00a0domestic environment, creating\u00a0an intimate language that combines materials and colours to celebrate the exquisite Valextra product.<\/p>\n

In the store you can find several architectural elements and motifs from his ongoing design research, such as\u00a0the axonometric MDF wall,\u00a0which forms a sculptural backdrop for the collection,\u00a0brushed brass shelves serve as a display for suitcases and larger bags, with a pink padded wall as the background. In the center you can find\u00a0small leather goods displayed on powder pink concrete modules. The domestic touch it\u2019s everywhere,\u00a0such as his \u2018Gridlock\u2019 chandelier, designed for Roll & Hill \u2013 or the small sitting room at the back of the space, furnished with vintage Gi\u00f2 Ponti chairs, Max Lamb\u2019s \u2018Marmoreal\u2019 coffee table and Malouin\u2019s \u2018Mollo\u2019 sofa for Established & Sons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that Valextra is a very architectural, minimal brand, and the shop needed to reflect those qualities,\u201d said Malouin. The colour scheme is at the same time muted and diverse, with a light blue mohair carpet uniting the space, populated with a palette of pink, green and gray that enhances and complements the textured leather of the collection. \u201cThe china finish on the edges look like architectural sketches that draw and outline the bags.\u201d<\/p>\n
