DelightFULL\u2019s<\/a> pieces were thought to celebrate the lives and works of iconic personalities that left their mark on the 20th century. Different and inspiring people like Frank Sinatra, Neil Armstrong and even Michael Jackson himself are only a few of the names that ended up inspiring lighting designs that will certainly outlast time.\u00a0So for the next months, from January until December, here at Unique Blog we are going to celebrate mid-century design<\/strong><\/em> in a very special way\u2026 we\u2019re celebrating with friends, with people, with DelightFULL\u2019s inspirations.<\/p>\n

So, we\u2019re starting things off in a very classy way. For this month\u2019s edition, we\u2019re celebrating with the timeless queen of soul, blues, and jazz\u2026 Mz.\u00a0Etta James<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Etta James<\/strong>, whose assertive, beautiful voice lit up timeless hits such as \u201cAt Last\u201d<\/b> and \u201cSomething\u2019s Got a Hold on Me\u201d would have been 79 today. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Born in Los Angeles California, Etta James was early a gospel prodigy. Through her lifetime, she performed in various genres, but soul and jazz stood out, making her one of the most critically acclaimed and influential female singers of the past 50 years.<\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

\"MID-CENTURY<\/p>\n

From her first R&B hit, in 1955, the risqu\u00e9<\/i> Roll With Me Henry\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 recorded when she was only 15 \u2013 through a series of classic 1960s soul sides (At Last<\/span>, Tell Mama<\/span> or I\u2019d Rather Go Blind<\/span><\/strong>), then a series of critically acclaimed 1970s and 1980s albums that won her a broad rock audience, James proved capable of developing and changing as\u00a0an artist.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

James released her latest studio album,\u00a0The Dreamer<\/i>, in November 2011, which received really warm reviews. A few weeks later, James\u2019s doctor announced that the singer was terminally ill.<\/p>\n

Legendary producer Jerry Wexler once called her \u201cthe greatest of all modern blues singers\u201d. The jazz diva died in California, on January 20, 2012, at the age of 73.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Inspired by the soul legend Miss Peaches, DelightFULL<\/a> created \u201cEtta Wall<\/a>\u201d, \u201cEtta Suspension<\/a>\u201d, \u201cEtta Round<\/a>\u201d and \u201cEtta Chandelier<\/a>\u201d.<\/strong>

These lighting designs are a memorial to the matriarch of the blues, a woman that represents everything that is classy<\/strong>, sophisticated<\/strong> and refined<\/strong>.
\nTherefore, these pieces aim to give a romantic touch to every single living interior, reminding you of her energy and determination.<\/p>\n
