In Luxembourg<\/strong><\/em>, a Manor from the 1920\u2019s was rebuilt into a modern house without losing its charm and becoming much more functional and comfortable. All this was possible thanks to the work of Eric Pigat Architectural Design.<\/p>\n

This project in Luxembourg City was really a challenge for everyone involved in it, especially for the client who was living in the house while the works were happening. The main idea of the client was to connect the two floors using them as living space.The architects opt for a subtle approach in some areas and more extreme design conception in others, which ended up in a really interesting combination.<\/p>\n

The architects opt for a subtle approach in some areas and more extreme design conception in others, which ended up in a really interesting combination.The main changes in the original structures were on the stairs, where the previous narrow and steep ones gave place to wide open wood and steel stairs.<\/p>\n

The openings in the roof, floors, and walls were kept and, in some spots, enlarged. This allowed the light to flow easily around the house, lightening parts of the house that used to be in the dark.<\/p>\n

The attic was transformed into a cozy loft, with a round black fireplace hanging from the ceiling. An original choice that makes all the difference.<\/p>\n

All the colors, materials, and shapes were kept subtle and toned down to highlight the client\u2019s collections.<\/p>\n

Also, the bathroom and kitchen were completely renewed, being chosen clear lines and shadow gaps on the walls and ceilings to provide a more modern look to it. The final result left both architects and client really happy!<\/p>\n
