But unlike the off-the-shelf parts, Modo parts are painstakingly engineered and custom CNC-milled from solid aluminum in order to create a luxurious and bespoke chandelier.<\/p>\n

6. Luminosity by Tom Dixon<\/strong><\/p>\n

British designer Tom Dixon\u00a0has developed the lighting showcase \u2018Luminosity\u2019 to be displayed at\u00a0Museo Nazionale Della Scienza e Della Tecnologia\u2019s\u00a0MOST important design festival for Milan Design Week 2012. The collection of new lamps, lights and shades explore the potential of natural and artificial light\u00a0in the future of lighting design. One of the pieces that was featured in this collection was the abstract sphere lampshade, \u2018etch web\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Etch web\u2019 is 65cm wide and possesses an irregular pentagonal motif repeated throughout the surface of the orb. The smoothness of the sphere is interrupted in a methodical pattern as the smallest point of the diamond-like forms join in groups of five, creating a raised point\u00a0where all of these parts meet. The futuristic metallic orb shade has been developed to cast angular shadows when the light inside is on.<\/p>\n

7. Plumen 001 by Plumen<\/strong><\/p>\n
