Impressive: that\u2019s the word that describe the most recent work of the architect Frank Gehry, who has presented a new collection of his glowing Fish contemporain lamps<\/a> made of jagged plastic scales.<\/p>\n

He first produced his Fish Lamps between 1984 and 1986 using the then-new plastic laminate ColorCore. The fish scales were obtained thanks to After accidentally shattering a piece of ColorCore while working on a commission for Formica, he decided to use the broken shards as fish scales by glueing them onto wire armatures.<\/p>\n

For this new group of Fish Lamps, he used larger and more jagged shards of ColorCore. Some of the lamps can be fixed vertically against a wall or pole, while others are placed on flat surfaces.<\/p>\n

These fish lamps revolutioned the design field by assuming a whole new concept.<\/p>\n

But Frank Gehry doesn\u2019t limit itself to product design\u2026 look what he did in the architectural field.<\/p>\n

In the city of Kobe, in a crappy docks neighborhood, a huge fish was the right gesture to distract visitors to the Fish Dance Restaurant (1986-1987).
