The Slak\u2019s first UK office is located on the top two floors of the former BBC studio Radio 1, and is the second European\u00a0base. The first one was built in Dublin by the same architects.<\/p>\n

For this project, ODOS Architects worked with 540 square meters. Reflecting the\u00a0company\u2019s desired aesthetic \u2013 \u201cmature and timeless\u201d \u2013 they used a\u00a0monochrome color palette.<\/p>\n

For the floor, they choose a\u00a0pale oiled oak floor laid in a\u00a0herringbone\u00a0pattern that is offset by\u00a0black-stained timber and dark leather upholstery.<\/p>\n

Adding some color to the place, they used\u00a0rows of rooflights spills from the upper to lower floors.\u00a0These rooflights are surrounded by protruding black frames that offer\u00a0seating nooks offering office workers views of the London skyline.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe lined the portals so as to reflect and extend the view of the London rooftop horizon and capture the movement of passing clouds, planes and the city\u2019s birdlife,\u201d explained the architects.<\/p>\n

Creating a \u201cspace of contrast\u201d, an ominous black corridor is illuminated by harsh strip lighting arranged to create\u00a0a gridded pattern.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn all-black and highly reflective gallery space with perimeter light bands serve to create a space with a somewhat otherworldly quality and one which contrasts and compliments the brighter spaces at either end\u201d, added the architects.<\/p>\n

Slack branding is kept minimal, with one company logo lettered in a semi-transparent gray by a skylight, and another in solid white on the reception.<\/p>\n
