DelightFULL and Unique Blog remember Amy Winehouse since today it would have been its 34th anniversary if she was alive.<\/h2>\n

This week we\u2019re celebrating mid-century design<\/strong><\/em> with some of the most dazzling lighting designs of DelightFULL. This time we are honoring and paying tribute to the one and only Amy Winehouse<\/strong><\/em><\/a>,\u00a0who has inspired three incredible mid-century modern lamps. The jazz singer won five Grammy Awards and is remembered for songs like \u201cRehab\u201d, \u201cBack to Black\u201d and \u201cValerie\u201d.<\/p>\n

DelightFULL\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0pieces were thought to celebrate the lives and works of iconic personalities that left their mark on the 20th century. Different and inspiring people like Frank Sinatra, Neil Armstrong and even Michael Jackson himself are only a few of the names that ended up inspiring lighting designs that will certainly outlast time. So, until the end of the year, here at Unique Blog we are going to\u00a0celebrate mid-century design<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0in a very special way\u2026 we\u2019re celebrating with friends, with people, with DelightFULL\u2019s inspirations.<\/p>\n

Amy Winehouse<\/strong><\/em><\/a> was born on September 14, 1983, in the suburb of Southgate in London, England. Many of Amy\u2019s uncles were professional jazz musicians, so Winehouse grew up listening to jazz music and at the age of 10 she founded a short-lived amateur group called Sweet \u2018n\u00a0Sour.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"MID-CENTURY<\/a><\/p>\n

Her debut album, Frank<\/strong><\/em> was released in 2003, and was a critically acclaimed mixture of jazz, pop, soul, and hip-hop and was nominated for two BRIT awards for Best Female Solo Artist and Best Urban Act. However, it was by 2006, that Amy Winehouse becomes an International Star<\/strong><\/em> with the acclaimed album Back to Black<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0The song \u201cRehab\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, which discussed her refusal to receive treatment for substance abuse, was a critical success. She won a BRIT award<\/strong><\/em> for Best Female Solo Artist and a BRIT nomination for Best British Album in 2007. In the USA, the sold one million copies by the end of that summer and was the British female recording artist in history with the highest Billboard music charts<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"MID-CENTURY<\/a><\/p>\n

In 2008, Amy Winehouse won five Grammy Awards<\/strong><\/em>, including prizes for Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year\u2014becoming the first British singer to win five Grammy Awards. All in all,\u00a0 Amy was known for her deep, expressive\u00a0contralto\u00a0vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, blues, and jazz and has influenced numerous of artists, including DelightFULL<\/strong><\/em> that has created three unique lamps<\/strong><\/em> inspired by the legend.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy justification is that most people my age spend a lot of time thinking about what they\u2019re going to do for the next five or ten years. The time they spend thinking about their life, I just spend drinking.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
