The first thing we see when we walk in this industrial loft<\/strong><\/em><\/a> is the vintage wallpaper<\/strong><\/em><\/a> that is simply dazzling with a modern twist.\u00a0\u201cI love the Cole & Son palm wallpaper<\/strong> in the hallway. I knew the tropical thing had been done A LOT, but the blue was a little different and it was actually the only color we could both agree on.\u201d <\/span><\/em>said Laura.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe bought the apartment as we wanted a garden flat, and decided to do an extension and renovation to make more of the space.<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 Having written travel reviews for\u00a0Conde Nast Traveller,\u00a0<\/em>it\u2019s no wonder Laura\u2019s drawn a lot of her inspiration from her travels. \u201cThe flat includes a lot of knick-knacks I have picked up from antique markets, work and my travels. We always bring one thing back from every holiday. I think it\u2019s important to surround yourself with happy memories.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had in mind a New York loft apartment<\/strong> in a London garden, so chose industrial details such as the exposed brick wall<\/strong>, steel Crittall windows and micro-cement floor, then softened the look with lots of bright d\u00e9cor, antique wooden furniture<\/strong> and tactile fabrics.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em>The dining room decor<\/strong><\/em><\/a> boasts an industrial floor lamp<\/em> <\/strong><\/a>that stands out like a sore thumb. We love it!<\/span><\/p>\n

They were on display in the shop so reduced dramatically. They feel amazing, super luxurious. Although no one is allowed to touch them as they are a nightmare to clean!\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe originally thought we\u2019d use the spare room as more of an extra TV room (when Ben has sports on!) so we picked a sofa bed. But it turns out, we don\u2019t actually watch as much TV as we thought! It\u2019s been good to have the extra floor space though.\u201d <\/span><\/em>The mid-century modern credenza<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>is without any doubt our favorite piece, adding a refined vibe.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
