100% Design<\/a><\/strong>\u00a02013 starts today and it runs until 21th, promising to lead the design show with another four-day programme of world-class content. Based at Earls Court, London, it is set to be one of London\u2019s principal live design events this September.<\/p>\n

Wednesday 18th September \u2013 Architecture<\/strong><\/p>\n

Richard Rogers<\/em><\/p>\n

The conversation opens between Richard Rogers and Icon editor Chris Turner. Richard will share highlights of a lifelong career, in this special launch session. The first day of talks also features Peter Murray (NLA), Tony Chapman (RIBA), Finn Williams (Common Office), 6A Architects, Stanton Williams, Duggan Morris Architects, Eric Parry and Rory Olcatyo \u2013 experts of the architecture field.<\/p>\n

Thursday 19th September 19th \u2013 Creative Balance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Giulio Cappellini<\/em><\/p>\n

Creative Balance is the main theme of 100% Design 2013. Iconic design expert Giulio Cappellini heads the emblematic company, successfully maintaining its position as a global leader within the design industry.<\/p>\n

The British Council\u2019s Ellie Smith discusses the influence of cultural and international experiences on creative direction with Harry Richardson (committee), Benjamin Hubert and Julia Lohmann. Curator and journalist Suzanne Trocm\u00e9 will host an exploratory conversation with bathroom giants Dornbracht, and Andreas Dornbracht, alongside creative director Mike Meir\u00e9, will look into the company\u2019s mission statement of Culturing Life. Editor of Onoffice, James Mclachlan will dissect a need for design and manufacturing to be more closely aligned, and is joined by Grant Gibson, Tom Lloyd, Bisley\u2019s Richard Blackwell and KI\u2019s Jonathan Kindle to look at what could and should be done.<\/p>\n

Friday 20th September 20th \u2013 Interior Design<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nigel Coates<\/em><\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s talks will all take a focused look at the many aspects of interior design, from individual specialisms to industry debates and the creation of commercial and retail spaces. Prolific design maverick Nigel Coates will lead the day with (The Interior) Explained and Exploded. Coinciding with his exhibition Exploded, Nigel will discuss some of his key interior projects and in the end, argue that it is atmosphere and instinct that really count.<\/p>\n

Saturday 21st September \u2013The Consumer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sean Carney<\/em><\/p>\n

The Consumer becomes the focus of the final day of talks, opening with Making it Meaningful from Sean Carney, Philips\u2019 chief design officer. The session explains how Philips will endeavour to marry consumer experience with design so that end users become partners with finished products. Sessions from RSA\u2019s Sophie Thomas with a live teardown and Sugru\u2019s Jane ni Dhulchaointigh (With Fixpert\u2019s James Carrigan), show how the end user is so integral to the design process. A panel of interior designled bloggers including Katie Treggiden and Ariana Trapani will present different views on blogging and social media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
