Starbucks has\u00a0recently changed its concept by acquiring the \u2018Teavana\u2019 chain of specialty teas and tea accessories, rebranding it as \u2018Teavana Fine Teas + Tea Bar\u2019, its first adventure into the tea business. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe difference between<\/b> a Starbucks coffee shop and a Teavana teahouse is like night and day, it\u2019s much more zen-like than anything you\u2019ll find in a Starbucks store,\u201d said Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, who likens the tea bar to \u201ca shrine to tea\u201d. Forget \u00a0coffee beverages on the menu. <\/b><\/p>\n

Teavana <\/b>serve up an impressive array of fine teas and herbal infusions. Gourmet food items include Lemongrass Ginger Chicken Rice Balls and Roasted Butternut Squash Strata, and are priced a little more steeply than Starbucks food items. With its first<\/b> Teavana outlet located in the Upper East Village, Starbucks plans to open at least 1,000 more outlets in the next five to 10 years.<\/p>\n
