\u00a0It is already known that architects hope tu use robots to fabricate buildings, but it arises a question: are there other applications for the machines in design? Well, now there are!<\/p>\n
We present you RoboFold, \u00a0<\/strong>a set of robotic arms, normally used in car manufacturing, that can bend metal into furniture. The idea was developed \u00a0by the\u00a0\u00a0British designer and folded metal enthusiast Gregory Epps.<\/p>\n The machines gently fold aluminum much like origami. The giant arms, guided by 3D modeling information made in\u00a0Rhino<\/a>, make shapes that would be nearly impossible otherwise, since\u00a0RoboFold fold along curves instead of traditional straight lines.\u00a0The folding technique cuts down on material waste.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, at Cornell University, a professor is teaching robots how to organize a room.<\/p>\n Is interior designer\u2019s work threatened by these advanced technologies? \u2013 you legitimately ask. Well, don\u2019t worry: interior designers don\u2019t have much to fear since robotic applications seem limited to fabrication and detail work, for now\u2026<\/p>\n
