Born in Hong Kong and educated in England, André Fu is starting to be one of the most popular interior designers in today’s industry. Featuring some of the most inspiring portfolios in the world, this New York residence is one of Fu’s most recent interior design projects!

André Fu was the creator of this fabulous residential projects in New York city that is all about the contemporary lines, with a mid-century modern twist. Featuring some incredible color schemes and furniture and lighting design combinations, this incredible apartment might give you the inspirations that you need to get you started on your next design project... But first, let’s meet this incredible Asian interior designer!

André Fu holds a Bachelor of Arts at Cambridge University and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Cambridge. The interior designer credits associate his idiosyncratic design style to his peripatetic cultural upbringing since in his designs he reinterprets the traditional notions of national identities and draws a naturally on European principles of beauty as from Oriental qualities, traditions, and modernity, in a new hybrid. “For me, it is about combining a seamless alignment of cultural and design sensibilities, modern luxury, and craftsmanship to shape the world around us”, enhanced the interior designer.


André Fu leads each project personally, including this residential design in NYC, from his airy design studio called AFSO that is based on On Lan Street in Central, Hong Kong. Marking the studio’s first foray into New York, the inspiration for this luxury residence came from Jean Nouvel’s bold architecture. In addition to using pieces from his André Fu Living furniture collection and custom furniture unique to the residence, he worked with French gallerist Emmanuel Perrotin to showcase distinctive artworks throughout.


His design approach embraces the project’s unusual geometry. According to André Fu, he wanted to showcase that there are interesting whimsical twists that you can introduce to turn the diagrid into interior design. High-quality materials, incredible color combinations and bespoke furniture and lighting designs were the bases of this luxurious residential project by the Asian interior designer.
