2 -Inspirations of Maison et Objet

Each year, the event hosts a unique inspirations theme, this time around will be “In The City”. Vincent Grégoire from NellyRodi will once again oversee this highly inspiring space. The designer has analyzed the latest consumer trends and sociological phenomena and has encapsulated them in a theme, it may seem that it has a humorous character but it actually looks seriously upon the re-emergence of the country of Molière on the international scene. According to Vincent Grégoire from NellyRodi, everything revolving Frapossessesess a certain je ne sais quoi — that indescribable Gallic quality that exudes an easy allure, an effortlessly chic and a distinctive sense of style.

France has long been a worldwide reference for the arts, fashion, design and lifestyle. For many, it is quite simply the epitome of elegance. Grégoire pinpoints a number of factors responsible for the country’s new-found resurgence. Leading the way are a whole host of smaller companies – Petites Maisons, who reinterpret traditional savoir-faire with product lines characterized by a spirit of invention and exclusivity. A “nouvelle vague” of creatives open to multicultural influences have also emerged. They shake up traditional French chic by injecting inspirations from elsewhere in a new mood of fusion and mix ‘n’ match.

All of these threads will be brought together in January 2019 at the Trend Forum, a 250 sq. m space in Hall 7 that will present a selection of products embodying the essence of the new French scene. Its theatrical decor will be inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, but with a little impertinence mixed in. A small truck where you will be able to find the trend mook for sale will be parked in the middle of it and a number of contemporary items will deliberately contrast with the classical setting. “There will be disruptive, dissonant elements and a spirit of contradiction”, promises Grégoire. “They’re an integral part of that je ne sais quoi”.

3 – Designer of The Year

In 1977, Raphael Navot was born in Jerusalem, Israel. After graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven with a Bachelor’s degree in Conceptual Design in 2003, he relocated to Paris and began studying interior architecture and design. He has a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects in his portfolio, from examples of hospitality interiors to both bespoke and commercial product design, all of which highlight French workmanship and talent. He collaborated with David Lynch on the creation of the Parisian nightclub Silencio (2011), worked with Oscar Ono (2016) to produce a highly technical line of end-grain flooring, and designed 12 families of furniture for Roche Bobois, including couches, tables, rugs, and lamps (2018). The designer’s 2017 work on the Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers, however, may have been his most important project to yet.

3.1 – Rising Talents

The Ultimate Guide For Maison et Objet 2023

The current state of Spanish design is unprecedentedly exciting. Around the world, seasoned designers with a firm trajectory are working on solo projects or joint ventures with pertinent organizations and businesses. Only a few Spanish innovators stood out when American, Anglo-Saxon, Nordic, and Italian design became well-established. With a peak in the 1990s brought on by the celebration of the Barcelona Olympics, the Universal Expo in Seville, and the Habitat furniture fair in Valencia, which featured a significant network of businesses and designers, Spanish design and the leading role played by its designers began to gain momentum in the 1980s.
