Kate Moss has made her Interior Design debut

The imitable model has turned her creative eye to a luxury development by the The Lakes – one of the Cotswold’s most coveted areas.

Kate Moss has become the latest celebrity to launch a design career. After firmly conquering the world of fashion with several sell-out collections for Topshop, Kate Moss has now put her style credentials to a new project – creating interiors for a house that forms part of a ‘luxury second homes’ development in the English countryside.

Teaming up with Yoo – the architecture and design company co-founded by property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and French designer Philippe Starck – Moss has today unveiled her bespoke design for The Barnhouse in the Cotswolds, a romantic retreat in the rural Oxfordshire region.

The five-bedroom house is located in The Lakes – a development of Yoo holiday homes on a 263-hectare estate on a former quarry in the Cotswolds.

David Haddock, a West Country based local craftsman- who built Kate’s personal dressing room at her London home – has crafted bespoke furnishings for the new property, including: a custom built dining table with benches, 4 poster stainless steel box bed and a TV cabinet featuring a silver thunderbolt paying homage to David Bowie.

Among the highlights of the property are a mirrored four-poster bed, plush velvet sofas and gallery walls adorned with hand-selected monochrome prints.

Moss has chosen the artwork for throughout house, including pieces by Damien Hirst, Allen Jones, Chris Levine, Damien Hirst, Mit Senoj. Look closely and you’ll even spot a few pictures of the model hanging on the wall, too.

The supermodel, who owns a house in the Cotswolds, described how she came to her first foray into interior design: “John [Hitchcox – the chairman of design company YOO] and I became friends through our love for the English countryside – and the pub! When he told me about the Barnhouse in the middle of the silver birch wood I was intrigued and then excited to become part of the design team. We have created a luxurious haven in the woods, a perfect place to escape with family and friends.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve been privy to Kate’s interior design flair – the model let fans take a peek inside her home last year as part of a special issue of Vogue.

But if you’re after a slice of Kate’s style, it won’t come cheap – the property is currently on the market for a healthy £2.5 million.
