Pilu: modern table & floor lamps by Leoni Werle

pilu amp

It was early this year that Leoni Werle was at IMM Cologne and that’s the reason why she was nominated for the D3 Design Talents contest . Her ticket for the contest was the design of Pilu floor and table lamps.

The German designer created a bell shaped lamp able to alternate between upright and inclined, due to its v-shaped solid oak base. A one-directional joint  attaches the bar to the bell shaped spun, making sure the light points down, whatever position you put the piece.

It is not the first that the Cologne based designer reaches the spotlight. Back in 2010, at DMY Berlin, she uncovered Heimlicht, combining a huge modern lampshade with a table. This combination allows you to work on a surface perfectly lit, using a counterbalance to adjust the shade to your needs.

With a sober choice of materials, not only is a work place but it allows to conceal safely all the work utensils on the table.

Leoni is still a young designer and is definitely a name to remember in future events.
