In the following series of images, you will be ready to discover the tearing effect behind the quality of Jon Smith’s work. The indiana-based photographer surpassed all the expectations by photographing a serie of high speed photographies with one thing in common: the goal of the objective was to focus exploding light bulbs. How? You properly ask. By filling them with various objects such as feathers, beads, candies, beer caps or layered sand, and then by shooting them, making everything explode.
“People see and use light bulbs every day. They’re something we don’t pay attention to. By shooting them, having them explode and filling them with different materials creates an interesting juxtaposition that I’m really drawn to,” says Jon, also known as WideEyedIlluminations.
