Imagine a norwegian designer, who works in his own studio, at Paris, a place where he finds the inspiration to work in design’s field and to put his ideas in paper. This designer has a name: Daniel Rybakken. Sounds familiar? Well, its recent success, the light “Counterbalance”, conceived to Luceplan, justifies the uncountable awards that he already received.
Present at Milano Design Week, this piece surprised the audience and the critics, beeing elected by Yatzer one of the best Milan Design Week pieces.
But, after all, what is Counterbalance? – you rightfully ask. Well, well well… The Counterbalance is a wall-mounted, counterbalanced light with a 2m reach, whose lamp revolves 360-degrees thanks to its original neodymium magnet hinge. Its simplicity derives from Rybakken’s appreciation of graphic design and 2D perspective.
