B-Arch Studio use to plan atmospheres for others but this time the process was different. “Box House” is the renovation of an old house from the XIX century.
Boxes: where everything can be lost or find, whether it is your perspective. No matter the size of it, there are always good surprises about boxes and this is no exception: “Box House” is the studio of an Italian architect and inside of it, there are unique vintage pieces to find. Mixing the modern and the antique, the roots of this house from the XIX century still remain.
The history shouldn’t be left at the bottom of the box and that’s why Alessandro Capellaro and Sabrina Bignami, from B-Arch wanted to brush the atmosphere with paragraphs of the last century and vintage pieces. “Behind the saws and planers that submerged from the wood, I saw an open space, free from conventions and full of memories.” And because the architect instinct is never wrong, the place is the perfect combination of three hundred boxes of wood and creative arrangements between old furniture.
The space is bright as their mind and the result is a journey through memories of the old carpenter’s house form the 50s and the dye works from the nineteenth century. The numerous boxes are arranged to create modules, desks, cupboards, a mobile counter in the kitchen and even a bed. The other materials were used to give the last but not the least color to the loft: iron, cement, vintage lamps, paintings and vases.
Every object is a story and every box is a creative process. Many things were collected from the street to revitalize object which destination was nowhere. Evoking the national memory, Florence is the place for the grown of a box with original Robin Day chairs, old materials and obviously inspiring and unique architecture seeds.
