100th Anniversary | What you don’t know about Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra 100 anniversary

SINATRA HATED THE GODFATHER …WHAT? COME AGAIN?

In the classic Mafia novel The Godfather, later made into an Oscar-winning series of films, the entertainer Johnny Fontane receives help with his career from organised crime figures. Although the book’s author, Mario Puzo, denied that the character was inspired by Sinatra, the singer — always surrounded by rumours of Mafia links — took it as an insult. When the two met in Los Angeles restaurant Chasen’s in 1970, Sinatra screamed: ‘I ought to break your legs!’ But he still hangout with cool cats such as Brando.
