Merging the typical considerations seen in race car development, with those of production car development, the American automotive company has created a vehicle that has been simultaneously conceived as both!
The new FordGT is modern and has a very streamlined aesthetic, being the most advanced production vehicle of the brand. This supercar is almost entirely made of carbon fibre and aluminium structures, minimizing the weight of the high-strength subframes.
The production team’s decided to render the GT in carbon fiber as an exercise to explore how they could potentially use the material at a reduced cost so that it could also be applied to other vehicles in the car company line-up.
Ford GT was designed to deliver pure performance, standing as an example of what they could do with the rest of the car line-up, and is set to showcase its capabilities at the 24 hours of le mans race 2016.
