When you think about color, line and texture, also consider how you can mix pattern in your room schemes. That choice can be difficult to manage successfully, but there are some ideas for your projects!

Pattern is unexpected when it’s mixed in a personal way. Can be used a faded floral with a hand-dyed painterly pattern and then a graphic Victorian geometric, or you can try a marble pattern with a polka dot and a small-scale pattern of animal silhouettes. The most common patterns used in interior design schemes are stripes, geometric, floral/organic, motif and animal.
“Pattern doesn’t have to be bold! It can be quiet, serene, bookish, moody, mysterious, happy, sophisticated, or even humorous. It can tell a story in a way that color alone can’t. To start, it can be simple and minimal. Consider small, densely covered patterns with all-over coverage as they’ll act like texture.” explains Rebecca.
