Contrary other hotels around the famous lake, the Patricia Urquiola’s design of Il Sereno moves away from the faux renaissance and neoclassical style associated with the region. The architecture of the hotel is achieved with a landscape greenery with two vertical gardens and specially created artworks. Inside you can find 30 spacious suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, all with large private terraces facing onto the waterfront. How nice?

At the center of the hotel, an original stairwell serves as one of many focal points around the property. It has been constructed with natural materials including walnut wood. The large steps are encased in bronze and effortlessly ‘float’ as the lobby’s centerpiece. Urquiola’s style and furniture collaborations are recognized throughout, resulting in a contemporary interior to foster a relaxed, peaceful sanctuary for guests.
