The awaited 89th Academy Awards have come, blown everyone away, and are now gone. The Oscars 2017 ceremony was everything we could’ve expected and more! So let’s review some of our favorite moments, acknowledge the winners and choose our favorite red carpet looks!

Although La La Land took home six of the golden statues, the biggest shock of the evening was, without a doubt, what will go down as The Academy’s most awkward moment ever… It was with La La Land’s cast already celebrating on stage, that Moonlight received one of the highest honors in the field, by being awarded Best Motion Picture. But we’ll get to that… In the meanwhile, take a look at all the winners!

John Legend’s performance of a La La Land medley. The singer performed two nominated songs from the modern musical: “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” and “City of Stars.” The production on-stage tried to replicate the movies’ setting, creating a magical atmosphere in Dolby Theatre.

After what was probably one of the biggest misunderstanding’s at the Oscar’s ever, Moonlight got up on stage to receive one of the highest honors of the seventh art. The whole cast and crew stood together to raise the well-deserved last golden statue of the evening!

The real-life atomic age hero, Katherine Johnson, a 98-year-old retired mathematician who inspired Hidden Figures, came onstage during the ceremony to simply say: “Thank you very much.” The three movie stars then proceeded to discuss how important it is to highlight the stories of people who have made a difference but don’t get the attention they deserve.
