We just love home makeovers! And today what you’re about to see is the end result of a stunning home makeover in the East Hamptons. After having purchased and lived in the 10,000 square feet estate for a year, the owners hired the amazing Blaze Makoid to make this East Hampton residence go from gray to gorgeous in no time.

The original home was a single story, rectangular box with an unexciting glass and metal exterior with below grade access to the garage, as well as two bedrooms.
Check out how it looks now!
The cold aluminum skin was replaced with rich wood that provides balance to the exterior and creates a nice balance with the house’s green surroundings.
A wooden, tunnel-like structure bisects the main house allowing for a new entryway on one side and a covered dining room on the backside.

Originally, the interior was cold and gray, much like the outside. However, when interior designer David Scott stepped in, the whole house was fully transformed and it’s now pretty much magazine ready.
In addition to the wooden tunnel, architect Blaze Makoid created two new elements at both ends of the house, which are stylishly accessed by glass bridges: a home office that helps hide the driveway to the garage, and a two-story master suite.
The kitchen was also the subject of a massive transformation. The marble countertop and the dark cabinets look sleek and modern next to a few colorful details such as the plants and the fruit bowl.
Colorful and mid-century furniture can be seen all over the house. This creates a more comfortable and cozy environment, at the same time it looks stylish and in vogue. The mustard accent chair we can see in the picture above is a gorgeous example of how to use color right.
