The Slak’s first UK office is located on the top two floors of the former BBC studio Radio 1, and is the second European base. The first one was built in Dublin by the same architects.

For this project, ODOS Architects worked with 540 square meters. Reflecting the company’s desired aesthetic – “mature and timeless” – they used a monochrome color palette.

For the floor, they choose a pale oiled oak floor laid in a herringbone pattern that is offset by black-stained timber and dark leather upholstery.

Ella Suspension by DelightFULL
Keeping the minimal style, Ella Suspension is a design masterpiece from DelightFULL. With its sober lines, it has surpassed the test of time matching perfectly with the company’s desired aesthetic – “mature and timeless”!

Adding some color to the place, they used rows of rooflights spills from the upper to lower floors. These rooflights are surrounded by protruding black frames that offer seating nooks offering office workers views of the London skyline.

“We lined the portals so as to reflect and extend the view of the London rooftop horizon and capture the movement of passing clouds, planes and the city’s birdlife,” explained the architects.

Creating a “space of contrast”, an ominous black corridor is illuminated by harsh strip lighting arranged to create a gridded pattern.

“An all-black and highly reflective gallery space with perimeter light bands serve to create a space with a somewhat otherworldly quality and one which contrasts and compliments the brighter spaces at either end”, added the architects.

Slack branding is kept minimal, with one company logo lettered in a semi-transparent gray by a skylight, and another in solid white on the reception.
