Looking for cool bars in Soho? Then Disrepute is the perfect choice! Once known as the Kingly Club, this place was one of the places cabinet minister John Profumo met call girl Christine Keeler in 1961 and has hosted the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Peter O’Toole, and Audrey Hepburn. With a 1960s luxurious vibe boasting marble details, polished brass accents, and velvet upholstered bar stools, this bar is filled with mid-century design.
The Club Bar beneath Clerkenwell Grind is Grind’s Group late night cocktail bar and private events space. The best part of this unique bar is that has a mid-century inspired decor that provides an incredible refined atmosphere to space.
This is one of the most gorgeous cocktails bars in the city! According to Time Out: ‘Oriole bears some of the same ‘speakeasy’ hallmarks. It’s already impossible to get a table at short notice and we were held at the door until radioed in, when a golden curtain was pulled back to reveal a darkened staircase. It is a lovely curtain, though. And there is a certain theatricality to entering this beauty of a basement bar. Flashes of on-theme jade and gold in leather and fur furnishings punctuate the room, while a stunning print of a tropical, palm-tree-covered landscape adorns one of the walls.’
This is the best bar in London for every mid-century or retro chic lover! The fumoir defined itself as “A bar where era-defining cocktails are twisted, forgotten classics are reconstructed and new passions are ignited”.
