DelightFULL and Unique Blog remember Amy Winehouse since today it would have been its 34th anniversary if she was alive.
This week we’re celebrating mid-century design with some of the most dazzling lighting designs of DelightFULL. This time we are honoring and paying tribute to the one and only Amy Winehouse, who has inspired three incredible mid-century modern lamps. The jazz singer won five Grammy Awards and is remembered for songs like “Rehab”, “Back to Black” and “Valerie”.

DelightFULL’s pieces were thought to celebrate the lives and works of iconic personalities that left their mark on the 20th century. Different and inspiring people like Frank Sinatra, Neil Armstrong and even Michael Jackson himself are only a few of the names that ended up inspiring lighting designs that will certainly outlast time. So, until the end of the year, here at Unique Blog we are going to celebrate mid-century design in a very special way… we’re celebrating with friends, with people, with DelightFULL’s inspirations.

Amy Winehouse was born on September 14, 1983, in the suburb of Southgate in London, England. Many of Amy’s uncles were professional jazz musicians, so Winehouse grew up listening to jazz music and at the age of 10 she founded a short-lived amateur group called Sweet ‘n Sour.
Her debut album, Frank was released in 2003, and was a critically acclaimed mixture of jazz, pop, soul, and hip-hop and was nominated for two BRIT awards for Best Female Solo Artist and Best Urban Act. However, it was by 2006, that Amy Winehouse becomes an International Star with the acclaimed album Back to Black. The song “Rehab”, which discussed her refusal to receive treatment for substance abuse, was a critical success. She won a BRIT award for Best Female Solo Artist and a BRIT nomination for Best British Album in 2007. In the USA, the sold one million copies by the end of that summer and was the British female recording artist in history with the highest Billboard music charts.
In 2008, Amy Winehouse won five Grammy Awards, including prizes for Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year—becoming the first British singer to win five Grammy Awards. All in all, Amy was known for her deep, expressive contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, blues, and jazz and has influenced numerous of artists, including DelightFULL that has created three unique lamps inspired by the legend.

Inspired by the jazz artist, DelightFULL created “Amy Floor Lamp”, “Amy Table” and “Amy Chandelier”.
