Every year the festival of lights works of art follow a certain theme, which means, every artist has to think and build his light art installation considering a specific theme where it should be framed! Last year’s Amsterdam Festival of Lights theme was kind of groundbreaking!
Basically an approach to innovation through products, processes and lifestyles that attempted to recreate the human behavior on Planet Earth in long therm! They called it “Biomimicry“ and I know this sound super complicated and confusing, but just by looking to the pictures you can feel the energy it tries to transmit and how calm and relaxed it makes you fell, am I right?

So, this year you’ll see incredible light art installations based on the theme “The Medium is the Message”, which means they are building their works of art based in the influence of the new media!
The focal points to be explored will be what kinds of messages does the medium light transmit nowadays, and since we’re in a time of fake news and alternative facts, is it possible that light maintain its objectivity? And so on, it’s easier to understand but complex and the same time! I’m sure we’ll see some beautiful things!
