Lee Broom is an interior designer. Topman is a store looking for innovation and personal shopping. Their combination is the new Topman Store of Oxford.
Gentleman’s clubs from the 70s are no longer that common. Not only because we’re in 2012 but also because that traditions are changing and that atmosphere belongs almost entirely to the last century, at least the retro decoration. Inspired in those years, the clean and well ironed suits, the typical hats and the burlesque feeling, Lee Broom designed the Topman Personal Shopping Suite in Oxford.
Stores aren’t, usually, the paradise of man. But Topman’s philosophy wants to change that, by giving them a unique space where they feel comfortable and, somehow, at home. Exclusivity is a guarantee by personal shopping and three main consultation areas. This lifestyle area is also filled with Microsoft innovation and XBox gaming area.
With wooden walls, muted tones, tromp l’oiel printed walls and herringbone patterns, the main colors are all about retro inspiration. With neon lights, hexagonal coffee tables and leather sofas, the store is not only about new inventions. “One light only” collection is of the charismatic pieces of Lee Broom that hangs from the ceiling of Topman.
Vivienne Westhood was his teacher and her lessons are obvious. Lee Brooms’ works are a master piece of design and art, combining vintage inspiration, comfort and modern details.
