WINNING MISS WORLD
After having moved to the United States at the early age of thirteen, and then coming back home to India a few years later, Priyanka Chopra would come to be involved with multiple beauty pageants. Supported by her mother, the Indian celebrity entered the competition for Miss World 2000, ended up being crowned as actual Miss World at the age of 18! This was the turning point for the Jharkhand girl who wanted to become an aeronautical engineer, and went one to become one of the biggest and most famous Bollywood actresses of all time, being recognized everywhere in the world!

BOLLYWOOD AND BECOMING A SUPERSTAR
Two years later, in 2002, Chopra would be cast as a female leader in Abbas-Mustan’s romantic thriller Humraaz. And this was pretty much where it all began. From here on, the newly discovered actress would book more and more contracts, each one of them more appealing than the other, coming to be talked across the world as one of the best and most beautiful Indian actresses of all time!
Throughout her acting career, Chopra would star in many different movies, and participate in several projects. In fact, in 2013 the actress lent her voice to the love interest of the Disney animated movie Planes’ protagonist, Ishani. Priyanka joked, saying this was the closest she has ever been of becoming a Disney princess in her life. However, it was only this year that the Bollywood actress would come to make her Hollywood debut in the long awaited return of Baywatch, playing the antagonist Vitoria Leeds. About her performance there is really just one thing to be said, IGN declared that she “outshines pretty much anyone she’s in a scene with“.

HER WORK AS A PHILANTHROPIST
She has been working as a philanthropist for many years, supporting causes such as research for cancer, and being an advocate for UNICEF and PETA. In fact, her work with UNICEF started in 2006, recording public-service announcements and participating in media panel discussions promoting children’s rights and the education of girls. Later in 2016, she was appointed as the global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, having worked with them ever since. The same goes for PETA, for which the actress voiced a life-size robotic elephant named “Ellie”, who visited schools across the United States and Europe to educate kids about elephants and captivity, and to urge people to boycott circuses.
She has also spoken about women empowerment through education, discussing inequality and the challenges of education for women, and received a standing ovation for her speech. However, bear in mind that this is just a sample of the outstanding work being done by this incredible person. Priyanka Chopra will most definitely keep on inspiring us to become better persons, and achieve the seemingly impossible, whether that is in our personal life, or our professional life.
