Chapeau is the most recent creation developed by Raffaello Galiotto for Serafini Marmo Luce. It is – literally – a hanging lamp made of marble. He shared with us his thoughts.
My first thought was: “To attach it to the ceiling it takes a steel cable?”, The second was: “If I drop the table from 5000 € faint.” The difference, however, are the materials used such as Travertine marble Lava Stones who do not have a large specific weight and therefore are perfectly suited to this type of object. The design is minimal, but at the same time in character and is clearly reflected in the name chosen for this series: Chapeau.
Choose to visit the stand Serafini Marmo Luce to see these beautiful products, at Euroluce 2013. Serafini Marmo Luce is located in Hall 13 Stand E 11 to the Rho (Milan).
Directly from Venice, he collaborates with prestigious Italian universities and holds lectures and conferences with delegations of international architects. In recent years, he projected important events of stone design and in collaboration with the CMC (Consorzio Marmisti Chiampo) conducted two important events: “Palladio e il design litico” and “I Marmi del Doge“ exposed at Marmomacc Verona and now in several european cities.
Fiamma table lamp
Marble is a material often used by Raffaello Galiotto, as Fiamma table lamp exemplifies.
Stone Gate
Although, stone is also a material used often by the italian designer.
Meet Stone Gate, a piece of work presented by Lithos Design for the first time at the ‘100% Gravity‘ exhibition in Verona, for which designers and manufacturers were asked to experiment on the field of natural stone gravity: the circle is amazingly made of dry-laid hewn stones, each one weighing 5 quintals, bound together in a self-supporting structure only through compression. Stone Gate is 3,80 m high, 1,20 m deep and has a total weight of 27.300 kg.
