Unique suspension lamps adorn the interior of the building
Neri & Hu Design were invited to build the new identity of Design Collective. The challenge was accepted and an old building was completely transformed.
All over the world, landscapes are being drawn under the statement of modernism and exquisite design. The outlines of the buildings tend to be straight and often memorable. Since their creation in 2006, the Design Collective Neri Hu, from Shanghai, they have left their fingerprints all over the country. The most recent place was the city of Qingpu, where they built a showroom space for avant garde furniture retailers.
Those who saw this creation aren’t able to tell that it was an old building. Born from the ashes and under the signature of master design, the exterior of the building is covered with opaque graphic wrapper made with carbon fiber panel. The boundaries between the exterior and the interior are separated by a tunnel with black walls but full of light and simple lines. The interior is as stunning as the exterior. Without demolishing the original structure, Neri Hu transformed the interior into an exhibition where the staircase is like a corridor into the pieces exposed.
Chinese retail, design and merchandising are invested with sense of life and style inside this building. The brilliant design and the combination with Design Republic are the perfect match to dive into new tendencies.
