Venice Architecture Biennale is at its peak and irish architects O’Donnell+Tuomey are contributing for its success: between 29th August to 25th November, visitants are invited to visit this wooden chamber, which stretches up like a funnel towards the roof of the Arsenale Corderie.
Among its characteristics, there are rectangular holes between the columns and beams of the wooden structure, which the architects compare to the timber moulds that are used to cast bricks.
As a matter of fact, Vessel is an assertive solution to the theme of Common Ground, a plank-stacked structure in conversation with the layered brick construction of the Corderie. Vessel is a contemplative space hollowed out of solid matter, a light funnel, a lantern chamber, and a passage leading towards our common ground.
Vennice Architecture Biennal is a meeting point for architects, interior designers and artists.
