What could we ever want more than one of the most beloved hit TV shows of almost all time? This is the one and only question we want to see clarified in the new season. The X-Files has returned – finally ! to the screen for its 11th season with a 10 episode order and the expectation is real. With nostalgia coming in to play, the series’s stars and writing team are set to bring alive interesting and relevant stories nowadays just like they were 24 years ago.
But, what we do know by now: The characters we so love, Mulder and Scully will be back like no others. Investigating a variety of cases, season 11 will be a mix of mythology and Monster-of-the-Week episodes alongside the dark humour that has been the series alive. Darin Morgan, a fan-favourite writer will star in of the episodes.
“It’s not a Monster-of-the-Week, it’s more like a Mulder and Scully on the run type thing,” says Morgan.
The truth is indeed out there and we couldn’t be happier to find it out. Mulder and Scully are back on their feet as the usual suspects. As Mulder deals with its self-doubts and Scully confronting a “huge matter of scientific urgency.”, we can’t wait to have a peek at what they have to offer to the new and old fans.
When it comes to the personal lives of the actors, Anderson explains that it was a rollercoaster ” We were caught up in a whirlwind. It was really hard to step outside of that, to have any kind of perspective or objectivity or reflection on the importance of being a part of something iconic. It was quite a long time afterwards before it hit me.”
But what about the future? The iconic actor says “Like I said in 1996, I hope I’m around to answer that question in 20 years,” Duchovny says. “Let’s put it that way.” with a bit of a cracked door we can’t hope for a better future filled with everything that made us love the show in the first place. So, let the games begin in the X-Files fashion way!
