Antonio Facco was a hardworking student gladly making the final presentation of his graduation project at Milan’s Istituto Europeo di Design, when out of a sudden, luck came knowing at his door.
The day he dazzled Giulio Cappellini day was the start of many cooperations between this dreamer and many international architects, which landed on a nomination by Giulio Cappellini himself for the Rising Talents at this year’s Maison et Objet January!
For Maison et Objet 2018, Antonio has developed a work of art around the relevance of time and how we relate to it in today’s society, and will present both product design as well as interior projects to wrap visitor around the topic!
Guglielmo Poletti finished his studies in Milan and decided to discover the wonders of the Northern European style, by moving to Eindhoven and doing a Master in Contextual Design there.
His style was always externally characterized by his fascination over materials and their limitations, exploiting their inner characteristics as balance and fragility, he has able to develop a personal language with which he wrote a story about the defeated complexity, using simple and elementary structures.
Kensaku Oshiro is original from Okinawa, , and graduated in 1999 from the Scuola Politecnica di Milano with a Master’s degree in industrial design. After finishing his studies, he worked in several places, including Milan and London, but has with his return to Italy, that he decided to open own studio and started working with such brands as Boffi, De Padova, and so on.
He was nominated for the Rising Talents by the well know Piero Lissoni, who was been working alongside with him for the last 8 years. The architect and designer mentioned that Oshiro’s work meant “the gap between the Japanese and Western perspectives on simplicity/complexity”
For Maison et Objet 2018, this artist will be presenting some his most well-known pieces, as he faced the opportunity to showcase his work at Maison & Objet as a marvelous opportunity to do some networking.
Marco Lavit Nicora, another fine example of the quality of the Italian design talents, who graduated in Architecture from the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. After finishing his studies, he worked alongside with the talented Riccardo Blumer, where he developed a taste for objet design.
It was back in 2014 that he found Atelier Lavit in Paris, where he’s currently living, being his work extremely grounded in the proximity and dialogue with the artisans, as he’s always tried to honor the quality of the Italian design craftsmanship.
He was nominated by the fashion editor, Rosita Missoni, who applauded his concerns with the recognition of the Italian craftsmanship and who was mesmerized by the lightness of his pieces, despite being underpinned by the classic design style. At MOM he’ll be presenting his Venezia Collection, as well as many other unique products from his authorship.
