Inside The Screen: Get Intimate With Bette and Joan Feud!
Get Cosy and Intimate With The Emmy Winner Show of Style.
If you’re looking for something to get your attention we’ve got the juice. The high profile drama starring host of Oscar-winning actors, from the mind behind some of America’s most popular television shows, Bette and Joan Feud is the one you should definitely be caught up this year! Coming from one of the greatest creators of shows that will last a lifetime, we’re here to present the feud of Hollywood vintage years.
Drawing inspiration from real life events – a dramatisation of the backstage battle between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis as they made Hollywood hit What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? Ryan Murphy’s latest anthology puts a serious strike on one of the most famous rivalries in modern history.
The latest anthology of the creator of famous hit TV show like American Horror Story, Feud: Bette and Joan deliver style like no other. As Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, respectively, Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange deliver incredible performances with only a touch of impersonation.
The supporting cast is also something to get your hopes up! With the amazing Stanley Tucci, Alfred Molina, Jackie Hoffman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Kathy Bates, Feud is the one we should definitely draw style from.
Even though the whole aura of the show is enlightening and full of intrigue the subtle way that the show elevates themes such as sexism in Hollywood and how men often manipulate the women beneath them into battling each other for their attention are worth goodie points.
Although empty ended in the latest Golden Globes on Sunday, the miniseries earned plenty of nominations from various organizations. But not everything is lost: Emmy wins for make-up and hairstyling. Even though it is grossly unfair.
But the production and costume design that is expertly made are simply to die for! The crafted title sequence, which was nominated for an Emmy, is truly something you can’t skip.
When speaking about custom design the Emmy winner Lou Eyrich explains, “So I tried to really follow silhouettes and, in the first couple fittings I did with Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon, we studied together as we did the fittings. Then we started loosening up more because as you could see Jessica playing Joan and Susan playing Bette, the way they would stand and that they would walk and then we just tweaked it a bit to fit both personalities. That did shift a bit. Also, the colour palette. We wanted to make sure Joan was always wearing cool icy tones and that Bette was always wearing warm, autumnal colours.”
When asked about how they prepared for this Hollywood vintage icon the starring actor Susan Sarandon explains, “The good thing and the bad thing about playing someone so well known, is that there is a wealth of books and interviews out there – and all of the films of course. But it was intimidating because Bette was so eccentric in terms of the way she talks, idiosyncratic in the way she does and says everything.”
What’s better than bringing a vintage floor lamp into your home? Inspired by the great jazz singer and songwriter: Amy Winehouse, this vintage retro style that embodies the soul of the British artist and the 50’s interior design style. With a glossy black lamp shade that bear a resemblance to Amy’s legendary hair and a small gold powder paint detail that recall us of her golden earring, the brass floor light suits the most demanding mid-century modern setting.
